Chief Executive, Premier League Foundation

Alex White was appointed Chief Executive of the Premier League Foundation in July 2025.

He joined the Foundation in 2014 and has since held several key leadership roles, including Community Programmes Manager, Head of Grants and Impact, Chief Operating Officer and, most recently, Interim CEO.

The Premier League Foundation is one of the largest sports charities in the world. Established in 2014, it distributes £40 million each year from the Premier League and its partners to professional football club charities across the Premier League, EFL and National League, supporting programmes that address major societal challenges.

Before joining the Foundation, Alex worked at the veterans’ support charity Blind Veterans UK. He also served as Strategic Development Officer at Interactive, a charity focused on disability equality in sport, and was Community Development Manager at the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation from 2011 to 2014.

Alex has been Chair of the sport and poverty relief charity Street Child United since 2014. He is also Vice Chair of the South Downs Learning Trust and a trustee of Active Sussex.

In her role as Chief People, Inclusion & Culture Officer at Universal Music Group UK, Ange Pattico has led a bold transformation of the company’s People, Inclusion and Culture function, shaping not only internal strategy but the wider culture of the UK business.

Since joining UMG UK in October 2024, Ange - an accredited executive coach and member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development - has introduced initiatives that are redefining how the company attracts, develops and supports talent at every level. Central to this work is the launch of Amplify U, UMG UK’s early talent programme designed to open doors, break barriers, build confidence and ignite ambition for those exploring careers in the music industry.

Originally launched with a single cohort of 72 trainees from diverse backgrounds, Amplify U has rapidly evolved into a multi-strand programme encompassing immersive insight days for schools, colleges, institutions and universities, alongside structured work experience, internships, apprenticeships and wider entry-level opportunities. In under a year, the programme has grown from a pilot initiative into a cornerstone of UMG
UK’s long-term talent strategy.

The Amplify U pilot received overwhelming participant endorsement, achieving an exceptional Net Promoter Score of 82, with strong qualitative feedback reflecting meaningful personal development, increased confidence and clearer career pathways for those involved.

Beyond Universal Music Group UK, Ange plays an influential role across the wider creative industries as a member of both the UK Music Diversity Taskforce and the CIISA Council, contributing to policy development and best practice. Her career spans more than thirty years in senior people leadership roles across film, digital, fashion, technology and music, bringing a depth and breadth of experience that continues to shape progressive people strategy within the UK music industry.

Angela has been working professionally since she was 13 years old and got her first serious break aged 16 in Coronation Street, where she won the National Television Award for Best Newcomer. 

She has starred in numerous successful British shows since including Holby City, Cutting It, Waterloo Road, Boy Meets Girl, Midsomer Murders, Lewis, Brief Encounters, Ordinary Lies, Wild Bill, The Suspect and The Wives.

Her acting career went international after appearing as Detective Stevie Hall, the lead, in Canadian cop drama The Detail, Astrid, an American manager alongside Idris Elba in Turn Up Charlie for Netflix, Elizabeth Harvey in Hulu & BBC 2’s , Harlots and in Netflix drama White Lines playing Anna Conner. 

Her film career has included feature Last Chance Harvey, Choose Or Die for Netflix, and Your Christmas or Mine 1 and 2 for Amazon.

During lockdown, Angela filmed Isolation Stories for ITV and Dunbreedin for YouTube. She also branched out into directing whilst filming comedy DUNBREEDIN, shooting the finale episode. This was a springboard into directing a 2x one-hour block of BBC series 13 Waterloo Road, 2x one-hour blocks of series 14, and a 1hr special episode for series 16, which aired in 2025. Angela is currently directing 3x one-hour episodes of the BBC series 3 Blue Lights.

As well as her NTA award, Angela also won best actress twice at the EMMA Awards and collected the Best Actress award in 2017 at the Black Magic Awards. 

Angela has worked a lot in factual entertainment, where she presented her own chat show Angela & Friends, for 146 live episodes, travelled with the ambulance service for two series of Emergency with Angela Griffin and presented live from the red carpet at both the Golden Globes and The Academy Awards. In 2018, she stepped onto the red sofa to co-present on BBC flagship show The One Show. 

Her theatre credits include One Man Two Guvnors, Breeders, Stepping Out (where Angela had to learn to tap from scratch) Dryden’s The Captive Queen at The Globe, Building The Wall a two hander at the Park Theatre and The Tyler Sisters at Hampstead Theatre.

Baroness Anne Longfield is a passionate champion for children, and she has spent the last four decades at the forefront of influencing and shaping the national debate and policy agenda to boost the life chances of children, particularly the most vulnerable.

Anne was appointed as a life peer in December 2024 and formally introduced to the House of Lords in February 2025.

In February 2024, Anne founded and became Executive Chair of the Centre for Young Lives. Prior to this Anne established and chaired the Commission on Young Lives, an independent commission to develop a new national plan to protect vulnerable teenagers from harm and exploitation, and to support them to succeed. The Commission put forward ambitious and innovative proposals, several of which have been adopted by the Government, including a “Sure Start for Teenagers”, Young Futures.

From March 2015 to February 2021, Anne was Children’s Commissioner for England championing the rights and interests of children and young people by acting as children’s ‘eyes and ears’ in the corridors of power in Whitehall and Westminster. As Children’s Commissioner, she was a prominent and passionate advocate for children during the Covid pandemic.

Anne previously led a national children’s charity delivering a nationwide network of children’s centres, and she also worked on the development of the Sure Start programme in the No 10 Strategy Unit under Prime Minister Tony Blair. She spent many years campaigning for better childcare at a time when many saw these issues as obscure or niche.

Her book, “Young Lives, Big Ambitions” was published in April 2024. Anne has received honorary doctorates from Newcastle Upon Tyne and Sheffield Hallam Universities.

In December 2025, Anne was appointed as the Chair of the Independent Statutory Inquiry into Grooming Gangs.

Baroness Caine of Kentish Town CBE has been a leading figure in the UK’s creative industries and in skills and education and entered the House of Lords in 2025 as a Labour Peer.

She has spent her career helping to shape national policy, championing skills development, and strengthening the relationship between skills, education and industry.

She served as Chief Executive and later Chair of Creative Skillset, where she played a central role in developing the UK’s creative workforce. She has also held leadership and advisory roles across skills and education and cultural and creative policy, including serving as Chair of Goldsmiths, University of London, and as Chair of Camden Council’s STEAM Strategy for schools. Her public service has included serving on the Creative Industries Council, the Civic Universities Commission, the Warwick Commission on the Future of Cultural Value, and the London Skills and Employment Board, where she advised two Mayors of London.

Caine was appointed OBE in 2002 for her services to the Media industries then CBE in 2013 for her services to the Creative industries

As the founding CEO of Creative UK, Caroline champions the creative industries by investing in and supporting creative ideas, talent and businesses; harnessing the power of the creative sector to build a fairer, more prosperous world.  The organisation supports hundreds of creative entrepreneurs and acts as advocate and chief-convenor for the cultural and creative industries in the UK.  Through its investment arm, Creative UK is also one of the country’s leading specialist investors in early-stage high growth creative companies.

Caroline is a board member of Aardman Animation, home to Wallace and Gromit and Shaun the Sheep and served nine years as a trustee of the PRS Foundation, a charity that supports new music and new musicians.  She is a speaker and commentator on the creative industries in the UK and sits on the Creative Industries Council.  Caroline is a member of BAFTA and was awarded an OBE for her service to the Creative Industries.

Daniel Mays was born and raised in Essex, the third of four boys. A performer from an early age, he attended the Italia Conti stage school, before studying at RADA graduating in 2000. His first screen role was as a pilot in Pearl Harbor, but his big break came in 2002, when Mike Leigh cast him in All or Nothing and closely followed by the critically acclaimed Vera Drake. A mainstay within the entertainment industry for over 25 years, we’ve seen him in a wide range of TV, film and theatre roles, including Line of Duty, Atonement, Mrs Biggs, Ashes to Ashes, Des, The Long Shadow, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Shifty, Made in Dagenham, Atonement, The Thursday Murder Club, Motortown at The Royal Court, Harold Pinter’s The Caretaker and most recently Guys & Dolls at The Bridge Theatre for which he earned an Best Lead Actor in a Musical Olivier nomination.

Marcus Davey, Chief Executive and Artistic Director of the Roundhouse, was previously Head of Arts for Dartington Hall Trust and then Chief Executive and Artistic Director of the Norfolk and Norwich Festival.

Voluntary positions have included being Chair of the PRS Foundation and the Brook Street Band Trust, as well as being a trustee of the Longplayer Trust, a Steering Board member of Barclays Lifeskills and a London Council member of Arts Council England. He is currently a Governor of the National College for Creative Industries and Co-Chair of the UK Council of the Creative Industries Federation, of which he was a co-founder.

He is an honorary fellow of The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London and of Dartington College of Arts. Marcus was awarded an OBE in 2011.

Jack is a BAFTA winning writer-performer and presenter from Watford.

Jack is the creator, writer and narrator of his debut comedy-drama Big Boys. Produced by Roughcut TV, Big Boys is an adaptation of Jack's acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe shows Good Grief and Happy Hour. The show earned Jack a spot on the prestigious BAFTA Breakthrough programme alongside receiving multiple BAFTA nominations across its first series. Following the second series, Jack was awarded Best Comedy Writer at BAFTA Craft Awards, alongside receiving the Comedy Award at the South Bank Sky Arts Awards 2023. The third and final series of Big Boys aired to critical acclaim in early 2025 and is available to stream on Hulu in the US.

Jack is currently writing an episode of The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, adapted by David Nicholls for the BBC and produced by Big Talk.

For stage, Jack’s debut solo hour Good Grief, a comedy-theatre piece about his father's death co-written with his 85 year-old Nan Sicely, was met with high praise. The show enjoyed numerous runs at Soho Theatre and went on to be adapted by BBC Comedy for Radio 4. Jack's second show Happy Hour was commissioned by Soho Theatre for their Edinburgh Fringe 2017programme. The show was the source for adaptation and inspiration for his debut book, Cheer The F**k Up, a part-comedic memoir, part-advice guide about mental health released in July 2020 with Penguin UK/Ebury Press.

Jack's latest live show, Love Letters, was a comedy hour about modern romance produced by Berks Nest and described by the Guardian as “effortlessly charming and buoyantly funny”. The show went on to be transferred to the Soho Theatre main house. His debut short film The Dawn Of A New Gay was based on the show and produced by C4's Random Acts. It was selected for the BFI London Film Festival 2019, London Short Film Festival and London Comedy Film Festival amongst other international film festivals.

As a broadcaster and performer, his credits include a BBC Arts doc Mamma M.I.A., a one-off special about the rapper M.I.A, Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled and being the resident on-air expert in bereavement and mental health for BBC Radio 1. He has also created work for multiple platforms as a long-term comedy ambassador for the suicide prevention charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably).

Jack is an alumni of the Roundhouse youth programme, and developed Good Grief while a Resident Artist at the venue in 2014/15.

SHERELLE is the champion of high speed dance music who has led a new generation of club kids to tempos of 160bpm and beyond.

Named one of Mixmag’s Top 25 Producers Who Defined the Year, nominated for the MOBO Awards’ Best Electronic Act and winner of DJ Mag’s Best of British 2025: Breakthrough Producer, SHERELLE entered a new era of artistry with the release of her debut album WITH A VENGEANCE (WAV). She has since continued to build out the WAV universe with WAV RELOADED, a selection of choice cuts reworked with vocals from Kibo, Killa P and Logan.

SHERELLE also debuted a new audio-visual show at London’s HERE at Outernet, celebrating the club as a space of love, care and togetherness.

SHERELLE continues to wear her love of the underground on her sleeve with SHERELLELAND, with unannounced line-ups and £10 tickets for her army of “bocats on a budget”. The biggest SHERELLELAND yet took over London’s historic Roundhouse venue with a soundclash and rumble in the jungle-inspired theme.

Behind the scenes, SHERELLE’s BEAUTIFUL project continues to empower Black and LGBTQI artists, with hundreds of musicians having had access to the BEAUTIFUL studio in London, underpinning SHERELLE’s ongoing commitment to ownership, authorship and grassroots community in the music industry.

Asher’s portfolio spans the arts, youth work, and bringing about lasting systemic change. They have led movements to reimagine national housing and homelessness systems, and linked young people’s knowledge with council leaders to create innovative youth work funding bids.

In the music world, Asher is a DJ pushing the scene with pioneering techniques and genre-apathetic style. They have led DJ youthwork sessions, and were recently part of building a soundsystem. Dabbling in visual design too, Asher’s projects so far include mural painting, streetwear and magazine design. Running through all of Asher’s work is the drive to make sure people who are currently disregarded in policy decision making are valued and listened to in it.

Jo is a co-founder of the Centre for Young Lives and is the Centre’s Director of Communications and Strategy. He has been working in communications, politics, and journalism since the mid-1990s, and is a former Head of News for the Office of the Children’s Commissioner, and a former Head of Press and Broadcasting for the Labour Party. Jo is parent to a teenage daughter.

Jonathan is a public affairs consultant greatly experienced in the development of communications strategies, campaigns and project development, specialist in areas of public policy, government and media relations. He founded Citadel Policy & Communications in 2005 for policy, research and public affairs and joined the Commission On Young Lives as a senior associate from 2022. Formerly a parliamentary adviser and political aide, Jonathan has been a board director at public relations agencies including The Rowland Company (Saatchi & Saatchi) and PR21 (Edelman) for brand reputation, issues management, marketing and stakeholder engagement.

Jonathan is founding chair of a multi academy trust. He is an experienced trustee including for Clore Social Leadership and was the first independent chair and trustee for Youth Access (information, advice and counselling). A member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).

The Centre for Young Lives supports the Young Creatives Commission with administration, communications, policy, public affairs, and reporting. 

Roundhouse

The Roundhouse supports the Commissioners’ work in partnership for youth voice and participation, the creative industries, and media communications. 

Young Advisors

Our Youth Advisory Group is drawn from charities and organisations providing a diverse range of experiences and interests the young people have in the arts, youth work and career opportunities in the creative industries.

The group will meet throughout the Commission providing topic specific advice and input to policy shaping and development of the report’s recommendations. They may also attend some of the Commission formal events and evidence sessions.

Youth voice and experience will be included throughout the Commission’s work, including through visits and focus groups and surveys. This will inform the Commissioners’ recommendations on increasing access to and participation in performing arts, music, media and careers.
